Noreve Tradition Leather Case for iPhone 3G

Today we have the review of the Noreve Tradition Leather Case for iPhone 3G. Noreve is known for its use of higher-quality materials and great finishing.

The Noreve Tradition Leather Case comes in a small gift box which you can wrap up and give it to your loved one.

The leather case is a flip-style case, you can slot your phone into the holder much like the VAJA case. The inside of the case is wrapped in a soft leather which will prevent any scratches on the iPhone. The holder for the phone is very tight sliding in the phone may be quite difficult at first but it will get easier as the case fits in.

The Tradition cases comes with a detachable rear belt clip, a metal nub, and a screwdriver for installation.

The iPhone Dev Team has unlocked the iPhone 3G. Now you can unlock your iPhone 3G and place it on any GSM network. They are currently packaging it in to a user-friendly software and the target release date for the unlock is New Year’s Eve 2008.
you will need an iPhone 3Gs with baseband version 2.11.07 or earlier, and it must be jailbroken.

Krusell Orion for iPhone 3G

This is a book style case with a wallet compartment in the case. The iPhone fits in a slider in the centre of the book case. The cover closes together with a magnetic strap which is good in my opinion at first i was afraid the strong magnet in the case will affect the working of the iPhone but all is well nothing is affected by the magnet.

The case is made from a really nice high quality fine grain leather on the inside the is laid with a very soft felt which will prevent the case from any scratches. Every thing is stitched together with a nice matching tread, all the materials match up nicely and the stitches are all well done, nothing will come apart.

Another cool function of this case is it includes a move stand, the stand just fold out from under the case, a very creative addition.

The bulk soft leather around case does provide some drop protection for the iphone.

This is great bushiness style case, the high quality leather give the it the high class professional style.So if you are lookig for a very classy, book style case, this should be at the top of your list.

Speck ToughSkin for iPhone 3G

This case is designed to provide the ultimate protection for the iPhone 3G. The case in my opinion is somewhere between the protection offered by The Otterbox Defender and the PixelSkin.

The ToughSkin does a really good job of protecting the iPhone from drops, but if you compare this to the Otterbox Defender the defender obviously give better protection. Similar to the Otterbox all the buttons, such as sleep/wake, silent are accessible through the case. Also there is a special feature on this case, the bottom part of the case folds away allowing you to dock the iPhone with out removing the case.

Enable Emoji Icons Outside of Japan

As you should know that japanese iPhone customers got 1 more function that the rest of the world does not have, the Emoji Icons. You can see from an Apple discussion thread, customers outside of Japan are pretty confused as to why Apple would leave the Emoji icons out of the update for everyone else.

Anyway a 19 year old software developer Steven Troughton-Smith explains how to enable Emoji icons on a iPhone set outside Japan.

You need to edit the file /User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preferences.plist on the device -> whether you use a jailbreak to achieve this or merely some iTunes backup editor is up to you.

Add the following boolean key as ‘true’: KeyboardEmojiEverywhere

Then merely go to the Keyboards section of the Settings app, hit Japanese, and turn on Emoji. Will work for any text field/view in the OS, including on websites, AND including the titles of items on SpringBoard (e.g. if you save a bookmark to the home screen).

2nd Generation iPod Touch Faster than iPhone

Handheld Games Corp’s CEO Thomas Fessler has reported to that performance of their 3D TouchSports Tennis game is noticeably different across different models of the Apple hand-held devices. In the video below it shows the the 2nd gen iPod Touch loads the game much faster than the rest.


The reason for the difference is that fact that the 2nd gen iPod Touch’s processor was boosted to 532MHz (up from 412MHz). Meanwhile, the iPhone 3G, Original iPhone and 1st Generation iPod Touch continue to run at the original 412MHz.

Guides: Jailbreak iPhone Firmware 2.2

Notice : This will also work for the 1st Gen iPod Touch

In this guide i will teach you how to Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod using QuickPwn 2.2. The method is exackly similar to the jailbreak for the 2.1 Firmware.(WinPwn 3.0 is still unavabile)

Step 0:
Make sure you are already running the 2.2 Firmware on your device. If not please update to Firmware 2.2 using iTunes before continuing.

Step 1:
Download QuickPwn 2.2 Here
Download the iPhone/iPod 2.2 Firmware.

Extract all files to your Desktop.

Step 2:










- Open the QuickPwn Application.


















- This is what you will see.Follow the instructions and plug in your device.
Click next ->

Step 3:

















QuickPwn will detect your device.Browse to the 2.2 Firmware for your device.
QuickPwn will check if it is correct.If it is correct a tick will be displayed.
Click next ->

Step 4:

















-Select all the features you want to perform. Add Cydia will install Cydia on your device. Add Installer will install Installer on your device. Replace boot logos will replace the Apple boot logo with the QuickPwn logo. Unlock phone will unlock your iPhone but i will not teach you this.(This feature will NOT appear for iPod touch)
Click Next ->

Step 5:















- This will be the next screen displayed. Now get your device (hold it in your hand) Make sure you follow the instructions on the screen properly.
1) Hold down 'Home' button for 5 seconds (Do NOT release 'HOME' button)
2) Hold down 'Power' and 'Home' for 30 seconds
3) When the line " Wait while your iPhone iPhone is prepared for jailbreaking" you can relese the 'Power' button(Do NOT release 'HOME' button)


















4) Only when you see this screen you can release the 'Home' button.

-While jailbreaking, your iPhone will show downloading jailbreak data, etc. And, just don’t touch your iPhone and keep waiting.


Step 6:

Congratulation! You now complete the jailbreak process with iPhone 3G firmware 2.2. Lastly, sync back your backup data with iTunes.

Dev Team has successfully done the jailbreak on the iPhone Firmware 2.2. QuickPwn should take care of everything except the second-generation iPod touch, in which case you're out of luck at the moment.

iPhone 2.2 supports podcasts over the air, not music

You can now download audio and video Podcasts from the iTunes Store over WiFi or the cellular network direct to your iPhone. You can stream podcast episodes by just tapping on the episode's name. While streaming a Podcast through the iTunes Store, pressing the home button allow it to continue in the background. This only apply to audio podcasts. But you still cant download any songs from the iTunes store over the cellular network just yet, we hope to see this functionally added.

Review: Zagg iPhone Full Body invisibleSHIELD 1 month Review

So i have been using the Zagg iPhone 3G Full Body invisibleSHIELD for 1 month and this is my review of it.

There is this part near the Camera its not sticking properly on the back and dust is collecting under it.

Ok. Now on the back corner the shield is pealing off and yes dust is collecting under it.

Another area of peeling is the front corner.

This is a scuff mark left by a key and the phone in the same pocket.
invisibleSHIELD + key = NO!
























Basically the invisibleSHIELD on the iPhone still looks great. The phone is protected by the invisibleSHIELD, if not for this i am sure to see more scraches on the phone. Installation of the invisibleSHIELD is the most important part, if you do it properly the shield will look great even after time.
